General Motor’s heavy-duty work truck, the new 2011 GMC Sierra HD adds for the first time the Denali trim. Exclusive to the 2500HD chassis, the Denali has previous been offered as the high-end luxury version of the Yukon full-size SUV and the lighter duty Sierra 1500 pickup.

The 2011 Sierra HD features increased payload and towing capacity due to a new frame and suspension and  a new Duramax 6.6-liter turbo diesel cranks out 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque.  New independent front suspension increases the front axle rating by 25 percent.

“The new Sierra Denali HD is the latest expression of GMC’s Denali philosophy of blending capability with premium features and styling,” said Lisa Hutchinson, GMC product marketing director. “It is a premium tool that offers many comfort and infotainment features, along with a maximum towing capacity of 15,600 pounds with the segment’s most powerful diesel – that’s enough to tow a 34-foot-long, three-axle travel trailer.”
