Ford U.S. Sales Up 43 Percent, Tops GM

Ford, Lincoln and Mercury sales were up 43 percent for February 2010 compared to February 2009, and up 22 percent  over January 2010, Ford reported today in Dearborn, Mich.

Automotive News reported that Ford Motor Co. topped General Motors in monthly sales for the first time in 12 years. General Motors reported February sales of 138,849 for Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Ford said total sales for January and February combined were 250,050 units.

Ford brand sales were up 46 percent versus a year ago, Lincoln was up 19 percent and Mercury was up 24 percent. General Motors reported Chevrolet sales were up 32 percent, Buick sales were up 47 percent, GMC sales were up 26 percent and Cadillac sales were up 32 percent.
