Mercedes-Benz has built on the styling of the CLS 4-door coupe with the Shooting Break Concept, a look at what a CLS wagon might look like, revealed at Auto China 2010.

Described by Mercedes-Benz as a coupe with a roof which extends through to the rear of the vehicle, the Shooting Break Concept features a sleek profile with many dramatic styling elements. Unlike many concept cars that test more extreme designs or far-reaching technologies, the Shooting Break appears to be quite close to production-ready.

The exterior design incorporates a bold nose featuring a large star in the center, a grille similar to the SLS AMG, a long hood and a steeply raked windshield with prominent sculpted fenders, a high beltline and the sleek roof to create a vehicle with dramatic visual appeal.

Inside the Shooting Break Concept is awash with high-quality materials, featuring primarily leather, wood and aluminum trim. The full-length center console defines the 4-seat configuration and the cargo area floor is finished in dark-stained oak with inlaid aluminum strips.

The Shooting Break concept car is powered by a new direct-injection 3.5-liter V6 that produces 306 horsepower and incorporates a new control system with lean-burn technology for improved fuel consumption.
