For decades, Mopar has been synonymous with Chrysler performance, but for the first time, Chrysler will produce a Mopar version of one of its vehicles.

The Mopar ’10 Challenger is based on the Dodge Challenger R/T and modified by Mopar at a starting price of $38,000. A total of 500 will be produced, all finished in Brilliant Black with a choice of three accent colors, Mopar Blue, Red or Silver. The accent color is used for the exterior stripe and contrast stitching for the steering wheel and seats.

Mopar ’10 Challengers feature the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine, a hood-venting system, a cold-air intake, a front strut-tower brace with shock caps, a unique engine cover and a rear strut-tower brace.

In addition to the accent stripe, exterior features include 20-inch forged gloss-black wheels, black-chromed grille surround, and a functional, vented T/A-style hood with vintage hood pins. Mopar logos are everywhere, including the front fascia, hood, hood-pin caps, body-side stripes, windows and chromed fuel door. The package also includes a Mopar ’10 car cover.

Inside the Mopar ’10 Challenger includes Katzkin leather seating with contrast stitching in the accent color and a custom-wrapped steering wheel with baseball-style stitching, Mopar dash plaque and Mopar logos. The shift handle evokes a bit of nostalgia with a Pistol Grip shifter with the manual transmission or a T-handle with the automatic.

Chrysler also announced this week a new pledge program which allows consumers to return a new vehicle within 60 days if they aren’t happy with the purchase, plus the Chrysler will make the first two months payments. Based on the Minivan Pledge program, the new program is available for most Chrysler, Dodge Jeep and Ram Truck vehicles.
