Is This The 2011 Ford Explorer?

2010 Mazda MX-5 Retractable Hardtop

2010 Mazda MX-5 Retractable Hardtop

This could be the easiest car profile I’ve ever done. Or the hardest. The Mazda MX-5 has no competition. Its sole purpose is to make people grin from ear to ear with deft performance and telepathic handling.

Chevrolet Camaro SS

Chevrolet Camaro SS

Sometimes less is more but it’s not the American way. There are days a plain old Big Gulp just doesn’t do it. Only the Super XXL Mega Gulp in the commemorative thermal tanker will quench your thirst (never mind that it fulfills the hydration and caloric needs of a small village in [...]

Toyota and Tesla Team Up

Toyota and Tesla Team Up

Toyota and Tesla have announced they will be working together to develop electric vehicles, parts and production systems. With the agreement, Toyota will purchase $50 million of Tesla common stock. America is a nation that drives. Sadly, for many it’s a chore, a necessary slog off to work or shuttling the kids about. You have to drive. Might as well make it fun.

2010 Lincoln MKT with EcoBoost

Bias. You may not suffer from this human foible but I do.  That’s a tough admission.  My job is to leave preconceived notions on the curb.  Still, when the big Lincoln MKT rolled up for its 7 day stay with me, all my brain could muster up was “Hmmm, my parents are visiting.  They’ll like [...]

Acura ZDX with Technology Package

Acura ZDX with Technology Package

Humans like to put things in categories.  The food pyramid has your proteins, grains, fruits and veggies all neatly divided.  Houses come in craftsman, modern, tudor, or McMansion.  Just about everything in our society is organized and categorized.  Except maybe Pee Wee Herman.
Common automobile tags are sedan, coupe, luxury rides, convertible, SUV, and pony car.  [...]

Suzuki Kizashi SLS AWD

Suzuki Kizashi SLS AWD

For many Americans the brand Suzuki means motorcycles, boat motors or, if you’re into classical music, a method of learning the violin. Cars? Not as much. Unless you’re a gearhead, it’s easy to believe Aerio, Esteem and Equator are hip clothing stores. Surprising then that worldwide, Suzuki sell more cars than [...]

Mercedes-Benz E350 4MATIC Sedan

Mercedes-Benz E350 4MATIC Sedan

Symbols are powerful shorthand for communicating. The stop sign. Bono. A Coke bottle. The Nike swoosh. Those Darwin fish. Iconic symbols all. Add the Mercedes-Benz 3-pointed star to the list. No, put it near the top. It instantly says three things- luxury car, German engineering, and the [...]

Tesla Roadster Sport

Tesla Roadster Sport

Cars are so much more than transportation.  They’re art, pop culture icons, and like it or not, status symbols.  Add musical instrument to the list.  The sound of a car is critical to its mission.   There’s a reason why a Dodge Viper does not sound like a Honda Civic.
If you get a chance to see [...]
